There is a reason there is volume controls on them. Yes 95% of the time they can be relatively useless..but the 5% of the time it came in handy more than paid for itself.

And not quite understanding your comment about wolves. I simply made a point...even complimented you..and you went off like I attacked your mother and ate your first born child

thanks, and I've ran into some that said turn cb to such and such a channel. Got to the guard shack and told them I don't have one, they took my cell phone number or just gave me instructions.

You know I wasn't dissing you, right NT48? I was just saying that I couldn't be a mentor- I'd be unable to sleep worried about the student flopping it over on an off ramp or something.

Anyway, glad you're moving forward. Swift is a good company in that it gives new driver a chance to get experience, where other carriers won't. I never understood why folks bash swift DRIVERS. Sure, harp on the company because of cheapo freight rates and what not, but to rag on the drivers? Meh.

Hey, Newtrucker48. how was your mentor or mentors? My younger brother was thinking of going into trucking and I am looking for current feedback from the industry. I had 7 mentors. One was an honorable old driving veteran from Dick Simon, another a 2 year Werner driver who was very professional, and 5 worthless old perverts. Are the odds of getting a good trainer better at Swift?

Oh I know vision, you've never crossed me like that before, if I came off like I thought you did I'm sorry. I was saying it was good to see y'all again and then the rest started coming out to. Like blue said he sometimes used to run super solo, and until I'm comfortable thats what I'll do as well, at least until I'm 110% comfortable sleeping with the truck in motion again. Thanks again for all your advice and help!

Yeah. I never felt comfortable sleeping while driving team with my trainer running over the rumble strips and me shouting to wake him up before going into the field. I am definitely a solo driver!
