this is my first emissions truck as an O/O any advice on these things???? tips? (other than "run from Paccar!") heh .. Did I forget to mention anything specific?? ect ect. Thanks!!!

You will love the MX/ Allison combo. Stay ahead on your EGR/sensor and DPF cleaning intervals and you'll be fine. Take the time to look the chassis over, especially after treatment wiring and make sure it's all shielded from rubs that may cause a derate.
Justrucking2, Oxbow and Rolling18 Thank this. -
Be sure not to idle it at 850 or 880. With a paccar you really should always Idle at 1000-1100 rpm
Oldironfan Thanks this. -
Best not to idle @ all! Latest advice from Paccar on idling is use the lowest RPM possible that maintains coolant temp above 150F. Best advice is what @Goodysnap said. READ your owners manual and follow the maintenance intervals. Personally, I would stick with Paccar filters and a reputable oil. We still run 15w40 in our MX's because of a mixed fleet. Buy good fuel, keep water separator drained and buy quality DEF. As far as dumptruck goes, keep everything greased and often!

i will take EXTRA care for watching this.
I literally am gambling my house on this new venture! -
opposite advice.. hmm idling is unavoidable in my circumstances, thats why Im looking at preventaive measures.. mayby an extended aftertreatment warranty.

We get the 5 year/500,000 on engine and aftertreatment on our Paccar engines. Aftertreatment harnesses are NOT included with this coverage! This is covered under the bumper to bumper warranty. Paccar financial was giving a smoking deal on the 3 year/300,000 warranty if you financed through them. We have a 2015 T880 quad axle with Ultrashift Plus. Haven't had many issues except a cracked EGR cooler. We change oil every 12000 mile and grease every 3000. Set overhead @ 50,000 and will do again @ 200,000 when we clean the DOC/DPF. Air management sensor/tube service every 100,000. Taking delivery of two Pete 567 quads with MX/Allison combo later this month. I will review the EPA2017 MX maintenance recommendations and adjust to past fleet experience.

the warranty offer now is only 3/300k if you spec a Paccar motor, or $3000k rebate.
I chose the rebate. I am going to try for the warranty as well.
I wonder if there is an option to buy the warranty near the original ending period?
i plan on a 12k oil change interval as well... cheapest insurance.
do you do your own aftertreatment maint. or???
tell us how you like the allison / MX combo laterOxbow Thanks this. -
Do our own maintenance engine/aftertreatment including some warranty. Warranty is always much cheaper @ time of original sale. They will sell additional warranty @ a later date. Warranty is a slippery slope and you need to have a good working relationship with the service department and a good warranty person in charge at dealership to make it work out for you.

o ok ill deninantly see what I can do!
Oxbow Thanks this.
