Hi folks,
The local KW dealer is clueless about this issue and the truck doesn't have much downtime to look farther into this. I thought maybe someone may know what is happening.
Boss just picked up a 2013 T800 with the navplus gps installed, and I'd really like to get it working. He didn't get the modem installed that is apparently needed for some communications, not sure if there is an external antenna of some sort for the gps that might be missing or disconnected as well? I don't know if it's malfunctioning and we need to push for warranty repair, or if he didn't buy something he needed to.
The gps gets to "Acquiring Sattelites" but never actually does get a signal. Does anyone know of some issue that might cause this, external antenna needed, some step in the setup process or something? It's going to take some pushing to get him to do anything about it as he's not great with technology, so if I can direct him towards a solution it will really speed things up.
Thanks for any help!

My smartnav in my 389 stop acquiring satellite at 6 months old. I finally had time to take it in to the Peterbilt service dept. they said they updated it and fixed it. But it was still not working when I picked it up after 2 days in the shop. Don't know if I'll ever get it fixed now. Buying a portable one will be way cheaper than the down time will cost me to try getting it fixed again
