"Truck GPS" as compared to a standard car GPS. A truck GPS won't route you down the Garden State Parkway.

As for CB, anything that's cheap and functional will be OK. Amazon has a small one for around $40 that I recommend for starting out; it works fine for talking to the dispatcher/guard shack at your stops.

The truck should be pre-wired for a CB.

Don't bother lugging that stuff to training. The space on training trucks is severely limited... one of your first trips when you're assigned your own truck will get you through your home to pick up stuff. You'll have a better idea of what you'll need after you've been on the road awhile too.

I'm sorry I don't work for Prime. Hope you don't mind me commenting, but I would also get a multiman tool. Gerber makes a nice one. Has saved my hind send a few times fixing tandem handles busting seals replacing air line hose seals etc

Dan G and CYCO Thank this.

Y'all gonna need some real tools if you're gonna be a trucker. Those pretend tools 4-wheelers carry around thinkin' they're "cool" with something' hangin' on their belt don't last very long.

Can the air pump... its useless. Vise grips, pliers - needle nose and edge cutters, screw drivers, assorted open-end wrenches, socket set, a sledge hammer, a large crescent wrench, a driver with assorted ends (5-point spline heads are pretty common on screws now) outta cover it. Get an air hose you can hook to the tractor glad hands. If you don't have all of this stuff, don't go out and spend a lot of money... you can aquire it as you need it.

    CYCO Thanks this.

I work on four wheelers for a living for the last 12 years so I have three or four of everything you just listed... As far as the screws your talking should be torx screws and if so I have a few of those as well just don't have the air line. Thanks for the info again this has been a huge help
