Or... You can save up enough money to buy a nice used truck and run your own business from there (which is what I'd probably do). But I'm not there yet! I've got a lot to learn and money to save before that happens!

I thought about going that route but then I realized I didn't want someone else's problem child of a truck. I'll most likely buy this truck when my lease is up because I'll know all of its history. If I was to start this over again, I would have done the ACE lease purchase program instead. That way at the end of this lease I would have a truck and not have another year left to pay on it.

Oh so ACE LP is different than the regular LP?

Sorry to hijack the thread, I'm sure there is a thread on here somewhere that explains the difference.

ACE LP is the only LP they have. The regular lease is you're just renting the truck. You have the option at the end to buy it for a balloon payment of $50,000 something. With the ACE LP at the end your final payment is like $100 and you own the truck. Some people do set it up that the payment at the end is bigger so they have a smaller lease payment during the term.

Thank you! I also found a good thread about Prime Leasing here: http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...eads/info-from-l-o-at-prime-inc.266286/page-2

Another question (don't remember if already was asked):

Does Prime make you double clutch for the road test? I'm going in as an inexperienced CDL holder.

I didn't learn to double clutch in school. They just taught us how to float (which is what everyone does anyway).

Crap... but it's probably not all that hard. I know how to shift, just never had to double clutch.
