I'm going off memory here. JCCWall averaged about 2100 miles/week over his first year. At 41cpm, a first year driver in a lightweight, that averages 861 gross. Then take out taxes, insurance, etc. Some people say that's peanuts. Some people think that's a 60% increase over their previous career.

Yep... I averaged over $800 per week a few years back. That was before the cpm increase, lightweight bounty and NE bounty. Don't expect that during your first year.

Im in a Full size (Condo) now as I train. It was okay, What u don't have is all the cabinet space, but u have over head cabinets. Im 6'2 250 and I ate out of the truck and I was ok with it. I had them pull the front seat and I put my frig and Micro wave there. Power? I don't think any truck in Primes fleet had adequate power lol. You have to remember with Prime it is about fuel savings so you run 55 mph. As far as climbing hills, it did okay, not the best, but okay, keep in mind that with a wt of 79K loaded I think most trucks would have trouble pulling hills.

It's the same 470-500 hp diesels everyone uses. What EVERYONE compares them to are the trucks going up the hill at the speed limit. Most of them are very lightly loaded (under 25,000 lbs) or are empty. The rest have performance modifications that jack up the horsepower and the fuel consumption. Those guys with the CATs and the Pittsburgh Power boxes count their fuel economy in the yards per gallon range on those pulls. Half of our drivers are very inexperienced (1 year or less) behind the wheel, and don't have the experience to properly use an engine like that. In fact, the engines in our trucks are limited in terms of boost pressure and peak horsepower because of that inexperience. It is quite easy to go from a weekly average of 8 mpg to the neighborhood of 5 mpg, just from overuse of power on grades... and not using the transmission in lower gears to multiply the available torque at lower power levels; i.e., forcing y'all to downshift keeps the company out of bankruptcy. It's about the dead presidents in the bank, not making your ego feel good.
