During your 30-40k out with your trainer u make 600 or 12cpm which ever is more.. If u team up after u finish your TNT training. Think it's pays 48cpm which u would split so 24cpm times all miles ran truck. N think I heard teams get a bonus for runnin over 3500miles wk which should be a problem

there was a considerable argument about this a few weeks ago. So we have a couple guys, myself included, who claim to know that teams start around .39-.41 split. (I've got an somewhat older paychart that says .40)
now we have you, who "thinks" it's .48. Whatchya got that makes you "think" it's .48?
even with the .10 bonus split over 3500 miles, I challenge you to do the math. At your .48 company drivers would be lineing up at Prime to run team. -
Just seen someone esle post in one of the many prime threads don't claim to know anything about pay. Sorry sir. I have looked into prime before but been awhile n info I gather from there forums could be wrong/outdated

Are you with the same trainer during PSD and TNT?

Sorry if the answer to my questions are in a post I haven't read yet, it is just getting late for me so I figured I'd ask so I could go to bed. I already have a class B CDL and had started to become a driver with another company. I had passed my written test for combination, doubles and triples, and HazMat. Plans changed and I did not go that route. Long story short, plans have changed again and I'm looking to try and start driving again but with a quicker entry into the cab than my last experience. My medical is out of date now and all my test have expired because I did not get a new license. I'm looking at Prime and wondering if it would be better to to retake the test on my own or just do a little studying to get it back in my mind and wait until I get to Springfield? Also, because I don't have a current medical if I remember correctly my license is restricted to intrastate. Should I update my medical to remove this or will the physical I would get from Prime do that? Would that change weather I should get my permit before going to Missouri?
The other thing is 'home time'. I know during training it is largely up to the trainer, but how rigid is the 3-4 weeks and does it have to be home? If I want, would I be able to run for a couple of months and take 'home time' away from home to say visit friends, or would I have to come home and then go for the visit? -
Hometime after training can be taken anywhere you decide you just have to schedule it with your FM. As far as when you take home time, is pretty much up to you, but you can not take it after be out on the road for less than 3 weeks, unless you work something out with your FM. I had a doctors appt once after being out for 2 weeks, and I was just scheduled through home for a day to get it done. Alot depends on your relationship with your FM though.
If you are going to get your Permit then get it in your home state, that way you won't have to get it in Springfield, also DO NOT GET the Haz Mat, as it WILL NOT transfer over.
As far as medical goes, you will take a psychical at Prime, regardless if you already have a medical card or not, so save your money.
Hope this helps youRollr4872 Thanks this. -
Highway101, thank you. That sounds a lot like my other logistic jobs, do right by the company and have at least a businesslike relationship with your supervisor and they will do almost anything for you. I do like your signature line, a couple of years ago I had a taxi do exactly that while I was in the back seat.

Ive heard a few horror stories about some of the CDl sponsored companies. So im unsure who to join. But I am considering Prime. IS Prime known for starving out its student drivers? Force them to quit to free up trucks for new students if I dont lease? I have been approved by Swift and Stevens. But ive been intrigued by Prime. From what ive read here they sound good. But I do have concerns and I just want to cover all my bases before i commit to a carrier

You will not be "starved out," ever... unless you do that to yourself. Leasing is something that is up to you... no one should even mention it to you, unless you ask questions about it. We have a large company driver group in Prime, and they compliment the lease drivers.Rollr4872 and quetzalcoatl Thank this. -
Do your own research,
talk to real drivers at truck stops.
The company you start with,
is the most important decision you'll make in this business.
It will make you, or break you !!!
