Not always the case....my Trainer was always going in without my consent or knowledge and changing/editing my hours, usually to benefit him. Putting me in the sleeper or off duty when I wasn't, etc. No big deal really, just an observation. Ya gotta put in your miles regardless.

I am also slated to start with Prime 01/08/13! My question is have you talked much with your recruiter?

I can't really speak for the Flatbedders. Being a reefer driver, I average around 2500-2800 miles per week. Sometimes more though. Very seldom less. But understand your FM has to learn to trust you that you can make the deliveries, if you can't make the deliveries or pickups on time then he will limit you to the easy loads.

Beat to check with a recruiter, but if you go through Primes training program and you probably will have to do 40K (I think) in miles, and you stick with them for 1 year from date of hire then you owe them nothing.

Hey drivers, im a newbie looking for a company to go with. Right now im in the process of being a US Citizen but just waiting on the ceremony date to get my certificate. Most recruiters I talked to said as long as I have a Birth Certificate, Passport,SS, and a valid Drivers License and a letter saying that im waiting for a ceremony date I should be okay. But before in the summer I applied to Roehl, Millis, Central Refrigerated, Prime, Stevens, Swift, CRST and they all are willing to hire me. But now im doing research on many companies and I found that I like Prime because it starts the highest at .41 but someone said in my thread that they are at .25 but also the thing is I dont know the miles a driver average in a week. I read that a company could have a high pay but gets low miles. I plan to work hard and the hardest I can. I need more info on Prime and also will be reading this thread for some answers

If you need to obtain your cdl then Prime should be your first and last choice! Great training program in my opinion AND I dont even drive for them lol. If you already have your cdl then my advice is just two of those companies,Prime and Roehl. Both are good companies and I rarely hear much griping from Roehl drivers. The griping i hear from drivers at Prime are usually the ones that really shouldnt be truckin anyway. Their complaints are usually easy to see thru once you ask a few questions. Unfortunately it seems Prime gets more than its share of those kinds of cry babies. As for the other companies steer clear of them. Especially crst!! They are notoriously bad training company.
