If your in a smooth bore you can dump the air in your tractor to lower the fifth wheel and level things out some. Might or might not work. Don't try running like that though.

Yup run that load , if they pull you on the scale dump the tractor air while the load settles down. If the trailer isn’t full to the top that will bring some weight forward.

I told the safety guy to send me written authorization to haul this load overweight and state they'll take full responsibility. They sent me the text message with the safety guys name and offered to pay for the ticket if I get pulled in.
    Should I run it?
Will an overweight violation show up on my personal record/dac report etc..?

Yeeeeeaaaaahhhh I really don't like this, they're going in circles with the excuses and saying they've never had an overweight violation and that only goes against the company record rather than mine and they'll pay for the ticket. They feel like I'm not gonna get harrassed or pulled in for being 1200 over on my trailer.

You said you let the load settle for two min.

    Did you lock the bakes?

Two min is not long enough to settle down a tanker.

Scales are level and we taught drivers to leave the brakes off.

Yeah the tuck will roll back 'N forth a few inches but that allows the scale to weigh the product and not the motion.

If you get scaled, bump the brakes and goose the throttle it make it rock and roll. You will get a green light.

I wish I had a collection of pictures of first time guys walking away watching the truck roll back and forth torn between beleving me or rushing back to set the brakes....

You seem to have made up your mind so enjoy sitting there till Tuesday…..

I’ve got 40 years tank experience… I’d run that load without even thinking twice
