New to the CB thing, need some friendly advice!!

    It would be real easy to narrow down the problem between bad coax/ or connector vs. a ground problem...Just grab a piece of coax that you know has good connectors, and run it temporarily from the radio to the antenna...If everything works, then you know it's the coax or a connector...If the same problem still exists, then it's a ground problem...

    or you can keep guessing...

    I had to replace my coax because where I ran it, it got pinched on the door hinge and took off the outer shielding, the copper braid and the insulation. I'm still getting the same problem after changing out the coax, so it's a ground problem. Thanks though.
