Pretty rough delivery, 3 hours in the torture suit is enough to break most men, lol. I guess I've been lucky in my career, I don't have to put it on very often.
New to the chemical tank scene. I need all the help I can get!!!

I actually quit driving for them last July. Took a month off and went back to SNI. Then 3 months later they cut my pay and broke a deal we made for me to come back. The Tanker place actually called me to see if I wanted to be a yard hostler for $22 an hour and I jumped on it, but was absolutely miserable there so I quit in December and have been on sabbatical since. Tried looking at other things, but I've been out of the regular job market for 20 years and people don't want to hire a 43 year old , overweight truck driver to even drive a forklift, so I cornered a driver for LW Miller at a truck stop, and bombarded him with questions and went and talked with them. Their pay sucks, I'll be honest, but they are a small local company and everyone there seems nice. they pay odometer miles and actual drive quite a bit. Standard accesory pay, not sure of it all yet, still waiting for the ok to come aboard.
They also offered me a fuel hauling position which pays by the load. 5 days on, 2 off.
So we'll see. Seems like the HOS got messed with again, some crap about 73 hours in 7 days. Trying to research it now.
Just so tired of our industry getting harder and harder to just do our jobsethos Thanks this. -
This week was kinda slow it seemed. My regular dispatcher was covering for a different area. The company vp/ general manager was covering our desk. He did a fantastic job, I just know he had a ton of other day to day things going on. That said things normally might have gone a bit smoother and I may have made a few extra bucks. Maybe maybe not, who knows?
I did a round trip loaded both ways from Cincy to Toledo Monday. Then peddled a couple trailers around the city to be loaded. Tuesday I spotted a trl hooked another and went to Granite City IL. Delivered Wednesday morning and shagged back to Cincy. Thursday was a round trip to Gary IN loaded both ways. I delivered that load This morning and spotted another trailer. So, It seems I had a pretty light week. I only spent 2 nights in the truck, and could have gotten home one of those but I was beat and just went straight to bed.
I did get paid for my first week on my own today. I will not see the break down sheet until Monday as they mail them out and we receive them on Mondays, but I think it will be an average of around .62 CPM. I know not all the freight pays that way, but It is one way to look at it. I will let you know when I get the sheet.EZ Money Thanks this. -
Great deal Bacon! Sounds like it is working out well man!
Congrats brother tanker yanker! -
Started today hooked to a trlr in Cincinnati took it to New Carlisle IN. Delivered it and headed to Gary. Drop and hooked for an 08:00 delivery in Cordova IL. I hadtime to make it all the way to the ccustomer today but was not sure if I could park there. So I stopped @ the 56 on I 80 for fuel and a shower. I moved up a little closer to customer and stopped @ a bp truck stop @ the 19. Only 35 minutes to customer. Hope to make delivery and get something out of Gary again to go back towards Cincinnati for Wednesda.

I just want to share something about the guys I work with.
I was going to be out until after 2pm on Saturday. I sent my lead driver a message Saturday morning to see if It would be ok to park at a truck stop near my brother in laws so I could attend a birthday party for my nephew. I would then drive the truck to the yard after the party. He told me it would be a good idea, but a better idea was he could bring me his car out, return the truck to the yard and then drive my car for the weekend. This I took him up on and it ended up saving me 5 hours or so for the weekend. I was floored that anyone would do this for me. That is a true friend.
We both get paid percentage, so it was kinda a favor between friends. I am really enjoying the new company.
I did not get home through the week this past week, but it really is not my companies fault. They offered to send me home but I took a load and elected to keep running to get set up for a better paying load later in the week. Things kinda back fired on me as the customer postponed the deliver time until 11 am on Friday morning. yup 630 miles from the house. But I guess that is trucking.
