Naw man it dosen't matter what state you live in for ex. my friend lives here in Louisiana, and Melton's terminal is in Oklahouma. All of the business done between you and the company is done over qual-comm. But for orientation and training you would have to go to Oklahouma, but they provide trans. via bus, and a hotel. Once you start working there are times you will travel to their terminal in Tulsa. They way time off works, say you want to go to family's home in Washington, you ask the dispatcher or whoever to get you a load going pretty close to where they live, once you drop your load then you just go to the home. Trust me there will be a way to work that out. And I checked for you Melton does allow pets you just have to put a deposit down (they have real NICE KW"S leather and stuff). I hope this helps out if you have any more questions or anything just ask me, I'll try and help any way I can.
