Might be. I have not hauled tanker in years, last time I did was JetA 73,000 lts of it. Unbaffled tanks seems to me would be very unstable, something maybe the DOT should look at. Dont think baffleing tanks is all that expensive, seems to me unwarrented to not have them baffled. But hey I have no interest in going into hauling liquid bulk transport so does not matter to me either way. So you can keep your head banging I will pass.

I worked for a company that did hazardous liquid waste when I first started. And then recently I got back in it for a bit. I don't do it now but I know i still could. I'm pretty sure the reason flammable liquids can't be hauled with baffles is because of static electricity. But it can be hauled in compartments.

But I was just reading online the baffles only slow surge from front to back. So you still got to be careful in turns. So there is basically no fool proof system for hauling tanks you just got to be careful.

I have not read any regulations for bulk fluids, the tanker I hauled was a fuel bulker with 2 baffles in the main tank. But that was years ago. They use to let us carry beer and guns in our cabs as well but they do not like that so much anymore.
