The reason for no baffles is sanitation. Milk tanks can't have baffles cause it gets stuck behind them. We can't because the sludge gets trapped and contaminates the next load.

Even w/baffles in a tank you still have to deal with some surge and don't forget slosh as you go around curves and make sudden lane changes-
which should be avoided! -
drove tankers awhile back , Quality Carriers , never had the baffled ones. hauled all kinds of nasty crap. had to learn how to drive all over again !
