Yeah, I think Maverick is my last shot at flatbed as a company driver. I may just have to drive van for a while. I just want flatbed to build experience. I live in the Birmingham, AL area and there are alot of flatbed loads posted the load boards. I hope to get my own setup and go independent in a couple years doing flatbed. Flatbed is what the B'ham market has, so that's what I want to set my self up to serve.
Called my recruiter at Maverick this morning, Lawanda, she's been great. She's still waiting to hear back on my hiring area issue. She emailed the map I sent her showing that I'm physically located in their hiring area.
Also applied with some of the big evil's today. Werner & US Xpress. Also applied with Conway and Millis.
So far I've been rejected by:
Crete, Heartland, Shelton, Hornady, Decker, Cypress, Melton, Boyd Bros., P&S for not having enough experience. Hey.. it was worth a shot.
CT & FFE because I'm out of area.
Star no longer takes students, they said to try Covenant (Star's sister Co). I was wondering if Covenant would be worse than Werner.
I have a clean MVR with no accidents or tickets.
So, if anyone could tell me which is the LEAST evil of the big evil's, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys, you rock!kickin chicken Thanks this. -

Hey thanks Kickin' Chicken!
Believe it or not, I already have Howard Transportations application on my desk. They don't have an online app. When I called, the nice lady there said they are behind the times and mailed one to me. I guess they don't have a fax either?
Either way, I don't care. Don't need a fax or a fancy website to drive a truck. Wish me luck.kickin chicken and Diesel_Smurf Thank this. -
hope you find work soon hunsiriusre and kickin chicken Thank this. -
Good News!! Maverick as accepted me and I am now waiting for them to fit me in for orientation. This week is full. At least Maverick lets you stay home and doesn't let you come until they've coordinated a trainer to be available for you. Arrow had me stuck in the hotel for a week waiting for a trainer.
So, I guess I'll blow off Swift, PAM and Werner for now. Hopefully for ever.
Thanks for the support everyone. This really is a great online community.JustSonny and kickin chicken Thank this. -
