New to trucking, just purchased my first truck, advice please?

The OP must not have paid for the course that teaches you how to get rich when you buy a truck and have nothing to do with the day to day stuff.

 

Its so easy, you buy 20 trucks, park them in your yard, sit back, relax, and make $20,000 profit per week.
Nothing to it.

For sure. You hold the wheel and I’ll make some vroom vroom sounds. Then we can drive the highlow to retrieve the picnic basket, set it down and enjoy some sandwiches for our half hour break.

 

I'd think that too if I hadn't been hit up with similar pitches at least a half dozen times.

One time completely floored me. I was at my former bank, the one with a stagecoach in their logo, handing a deposit or something. They never miss an opportunity to sell a bunch of crap services, so naturally one of the "bankers" came out and dragged me into her office to look for an angle. I mean, figure out ways they could help.

Long story short, this cute 20-something young woman, obviously an eminently qualified banker, finds out I have trucks. Shuts the door and tells me she knows a guy doing something like that and they're always looking for partners blah blah blah. I Did Not See That Coming. Srsly. Somehow I kept my trucker mouth to myself and just politely declined on my way out. Probably should have reported it to someone higher up, but never did. I was about done with that bank at the time anyway, and this was just one more reason.

Sounds like it could be OP's sister's pal.
