ok May Truckers, I need help. My husband started with May in October 2012. He has been home once and is now going cross country. He will be out for a full month. Being away is no big deal as we were both in the Military. We just treat this time apart as a deployment. My question is about the Comchecks. So far he has been paid 3 times. Twice we have used the checks and once while he was home, he used his card as an ATM and withdrew his money. When I took the check to Wells Fargo (our normal bank and the bank on the check), they refused to give us cash up front. They held the check for 2 days. My husband used to cash his other payroll checks at a bank that we didn't have an account and they cashed it for him. We tried to say that we didn't have an account there so that they'd cash it but they recognized us. Please help!!!

Good luck to you and your husband!
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

You can also sign up for the direct deposit option. At May it is not true direct deposit though. The funds will still be loaded on his card, but he will have to call the Comdata number and manually transfer the funds over to your bank account and that could take up to a day or two. All depends on what time he made the transfer.
Remember one thing about Comdata though. Every time you get funds loaded on your card for whatever reason, you get a credit. Every time you pull money off the card (atm, comchek, direct deposit) you lose a credit. If you dont have any credits available when you do a fund withdrawal or transfer, you are charged a dollar. Its a pretty crappy system honestly. There are much better ways to handle payroll.Trucker Steve Thanks this. -
EFon, "not true DD"? Then why would May require a blank check when you first start out with them? Doesn't make a lotta sense....

They set up the direct deposit feature to your Comdata acct. You can thus control how much you want to deposit into your acct. If you want, you can direct deposit $900 and hold back $100 just by calling the automated Comdata phone system.

Yep. They get that blank check so they can setup your comdata card. You still have to call the automated number to transfer funds to your bank account.

So, it's all done over the phone? They haven't yet discovered this new fangled thing called the internet?
