Hello all, just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My name is Charles and I am going to be starting orientation with Knight Transportation in Phoenix next Tuesday for CDL training. Have already passed the DOT physical and got my permit just waiting for classes to start.
I have read a lot of posts on here about Knight, but just wondering if there are any other new drivers that have been through the Knight training recently and would be able to share any information. Mainly looking for detailed info not just general basic stuff.
The invitation from Knight was rather vague about the first week (orientation), anyone have any details about what exactly will be going on and anything specific needed other than Drivers Lic, Soc Sec Card, Permit, and DOT Medical card? Email from them said drug test and physical on the first day. I don't have a problem with the drug test never used the stuff. I have passed the DOT physical, basicly BP check, pulse, eyesight, hearing, temp, breathing and heart monitoring by stethoscope. Any thing else I can expect or are they just basically looking to see if I am going to have a heart attack or stroke soon?
Class material, same stuff as in the permit test or more detailed? Also how is the range training, concerned about learning backing being as I haven't driven a truck before.
Any information would be helpful, and I will gladly share my experiences along the way for anyone interested.
Thanks.
New trainee ready to get started
