Almost worse than the eaton vorad radar is the "lane departure warning device" that some companies are using. It has an "eye" just right of center at the top of the windshield, and 2 little speakers in the cab. If you get close to the line you hear an artificial rumble strip noise buzzing in the left or right speaker, depending on what way it thinks you are drifting. Big PITA.

A person careless enough not to look in the mirror before switching lanes is going to screw up in a truck regardless. The lack of simple safety features such as beeping when there is a vehicle on the side of the trailer does not make a driver more vigilant. Trucks have blind spots and people ride in them either out of ignorance or carelessness.

I don't support safety features that automatically apply brakes or decelerate though.

I agree, I'm just saying you virtually have no blind spots if you have side mirrors, convex side mirrors, and convex fender mirrors. I definitely agree about the auto slowing down and such, because in my opinion if it auto decelerates then you are no longer in control of the vehicle, the ECM is

All dreamed up by "desk jockeys"! I think we should put them in a truck with all their hair groaned ideas and let them figure out how to drive out there. Maybe even the stupid lawmakers as their co-drivers. Wonder how long they'd last before things started getting altered?

I'm just waiting for some 4-wheeler to either ram into the rear of a decelerated truck or have one cut off a truck and the dang thing sends a driver through the windshield or paralyses him from whiplash. But it will still be the drivers fault! UGH!!!!

Well it's not your fault if they run into the back of you, that's their fault for following to close ;)

I think we all wish we could do that at some point in time. Maybe have a nice big party for them. Only when they come, they see a truck with instructions to get in a drive for a whole week with the crap they make you use. :biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559: I can dream right??:biggrin_25525:
