You are not giving us enough information...... Did you actually get a DUI? What was you BAC (when u were arrested they forced you to give blood right?) when did this happen? And lastly: WHAT HAPPENED?

The only things that we are SURE of is that you have an AUTOMATIC 1 YEAR SUSPENSION for refusing to blow..... And that you WILL be doing a DUI class....the length (6-9-12-18 months depending on your BAC, because you refused @ the scene there probably is a "mandatory" amount you must do...I'm going to guess it ISN'T the 6 months class)

if you DIDN'T refuse ......believe it or not ...you would have a couple of extra options..... Since you refused there isn't much you can do but figure out HOW ELSE YOU CAN MAKE MONEY FOR THE NEXT YEAR MINIMUM! (3 more than likely) because it won't be from driving.

You will NOT get your CDL back after a year if you do not COMPLETE a DUI class first. So the sooner you enroll, the sooner you can complete.

THE ABSOLUTE WORSE THING YOU CAN DO when you start your class is use it to bide time, and ONLY be concerned with "when I'm getting my license back"..... I'm not here to preach, I'm just telling you with that line of thinking, you WILL get a second DUI. Treat your CDL like you're holding a newborn child (I'm dead serious)

after you enroll you will have the option of getting a temporary restricted CLASS C LICENSE ( to and from work/school) .......IF YOU DO THIS: YOU WILL HAVE TO REAPPLY FOR YOUR CDL ALL OVER AGAIN (because you just "downgraded") Now if you just wait it out (for the year) and don't get pulled over for driving on a suspended licenses, then you'll be reissued your CDL.

Everything I just said is true for CA... You'll have to go to DMV's website in your home state to verify the above.

Before you decide to get depressed and play the "whoa is me" like your a victim.... Be HAPPY that you didn't hit/kill someone and then feel RELIEVED that this ISN'T THE END OF YOUR CDL LIFE, take in EVERYTHING that is said in your DUI class..... And you'll come out of this a better person. THEN you'll look back and see how bad you looked saying "I got "popped" for a DUI" (taking no accountability)

you'll be alright....in the long run....it's just NOW you're gonna have to WORK for it.

    Good luck.

Everyone screws up sometimes, but our decisions have consequences. You took a risk, got caught, and now the consequence is your driving career is lost. Good luck in your future endeavors, I hope you learn from this and make better choices in your next line of work.

agreed........ But his driving career isn't lost forever......just temporarily. If he would have taken accountability and blown @ the scene... He could have avoided making a bad decision even WORSE for himself.

you know. just becuase the OP made a wrong decision. doesn't mean you all need to respond to him like an A-hole.

he knows he made his bed. he didn't ask for you all to whip his A--.

the OP came here with a question. NOT A SCOLDING.

oh hogwash, are we suppose to hold his hand and say it'll be alright sweety. It's not your fault. This is his CDL we're talking about, his bread and butter. He is old enough to know right from wrong,he refused to take the breath test, this is recently. If he wanted to drink he should have just taken a #### cab to the bar.But instead he decided to risk losing his cdl,not caring about others on the road.I thank the good lord above thats all he lost and not a human life.

Really... Is praxair considered a decent place (know a guy that drives for them that pulled down a tad under 70k last year that has a DUI)

is Sysco a decent place? Know a former coworker that made 102k driving for them that has a DUI also)

what's an example of a decent company, and a "really good company" ? Just curious sir that's all.

oooooooh so so SO true......... he's about to learn that there isn't a taxicab fair in the world more expensive than a DUI (especially for a CDL holder)
