You really do need to try to project yourself as something besides a phony 'board cop'. You haven't even risen to the level of 'know everything - know nothing' phony your boardmate aspires to. Those who read the now locked up 'truckstop etiquette' thread will gain some insight into the subscriber's prattling...:biggrin_25523:

I went through the driving school / training with a company that had aprox. 600 trucks. Before I chose to go the company school route I researched on the web, talked to a few drivers-did'nt know too many, and went with a company that looked stable financially and had been in business for a few decades. This website helped alot! I signed a 1 year comitment to stay with said company and at the end of that year all of my "tuition" costs were covered by the company. I ended up staying on with them for two years and then found another driving job that was based near my hometown. More home time too. Did the same type of research on them before I changed jobs. My suggestion is to avoid the mega outfits and look at the smaller / midsize carriers. These big outfits are just looking to put meat in the seat.

Those who buy into the ridiculous hype may very well state the obvious. Those who had a good idea what they were getting into and what to expect will probably stick with it and go on to do well. No instant gratification as this is a long term career for sure - I certainly have no regrets.

Like I've stated elsewhere on this board; there is NO REASON EVER for a CDL holder with a good record to be out of work.

Is your life really this sad that you take a simple observation of your negativity and come up with this? I pity you, but I won't derail this with some sort of ongoing grudge your lonely, ungraded, underpaid, self seems to have with me. Because your not worth anymore effort, besides, because you don't like me you have destroyed my fragile little world and I must rebuild it our kill myself. Oh wait, no I don't, unlike you I have some people waiting for me and I would be missed. Enjoy your life of self loathing thinly masked by pathetic insults and downing others,i will enjoy my life of friends and loved ones,

Dragon, please just put the knucklehead on ignore and let him argue with himself. Eventually, he will get bored with losing all the time. I like seeing you here and would hate to see you get booted. That's his goal. To niggle, bug and pass thinly veiled insults with reference to your identity in order to bait you. Don't take the bait.

*we now return you to the debate in progress*

Mr. Hut is right. There are a lot of newbies who do their homework and then do what works best for them. I have had several just this week PM me with questions about the road I took. They are exercising due diligence by doing so.

    Wedge and TruckerDragon Thank this.

The 'dynamic duo' will never achieve greatness and credibility through invective posturing. The mods know what you state isn't true; meaning your presence here isn't tangible.:biggrin_255:

I've thought about that, but there is a flip side to that coin.

At $20 per hour, you can bet companies will start micro-managing every minute of your time.

The technology to do this is here now.

And rest assured you will be working every hour of that 14.

And lumpers? :biggrin_25523: why, if they're already paying you ...
