What speed are you running at to get 9-10 mpg? I’m in a 2026 vnl 860 and pulling a reefer at 72 mph so far the truck is averaging 7mpg.

    Oxbow and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

What is the spec on yours? Hell I get 8 plus doing 70 in my 23 860 doing dry van.

I would venture to guess running higher elevation and most likely higher weight running reefer out of Idaho has an impact.

    2026 860
D13 455hp with 2.15 rears. I’m guessing it should go up a bit after it gets some miles on it.

Yeah, running heavy, fast, in the hills and at altitude doesn’t produce good MPG’s. We rarely average 8 with our T680.

You ain't in the truck making market.. you're in the truck buying market, but not JBHunt, Schneider buying power. Meaning to say you're not buying 10K units per month.

Adjust your rates now before the tariffs affect your business's bottom line.

Fun Fact, half of SNDR's revenue is fully funded by rail and logistics(profitable), next third by SFI lease(wash), and then last 7/8 by OTR transport(loss).

Guessing you have the TC since it is 2.15 RAR and you have the 13 speed. You will need to ensure all of the settings are right for your set up as well to ensure max efficiency. Guessing you are still in the break in period as well based on what you just said. 9 and 10 MPG's are easy to get with that set up.
