Well, I was home every weekend my first year... and made $48,000. Not bad considering a driving school classmate went with Werner and made $26,000 his first year and was in a trainers truck for almost 3 months.(and he thaught he was lucky to get his own truck that soon).

$110,000? So, your the guy selling meth and crack at the Kansas City Flying Hook!

Yeah you should call #######! 75k a year at 2800 miles a week means that your company is paying you .57 a mile!

Here we go down this road again!

Ok guys post your pay stubs!

I get paid in % of the truck revenue(27.5% currently). Plus, unload/stop fees, and fees for washouts. So, it depends how you calculate it. I've had loads that pay over .80 per mile... if you wanna calculate it that way... However, I've also had loads that pay as little as .27 per mile so it's not all gravy.

And that is still quite a stretch. If you make $75,000 on 27.5% that means the truck grossed $272,727. At 2800 miles a week the truck ran 145,600 miles at 1.873 CPM on all loaded and empty miles. To do this it ran 52 weeks at 2800 miles a week.

Now while this is possible I would say that everyone was holding their mouth right, standing on one foot, holding one hand above their head and all the planets stayed aligned for the entire year. Congratulations on a job well done!

I am curious as to what kind of trailer you pull. What company does the truck run for and other particulars. After reading your post I'm thinking of buying several trucks.

    Post your pay stubs boys!

    Otherwise keep it shut!

Yes you are right, Chompi doesn't get paid by the mile! Chompi is 36 years old and retired! Hence why I come on here and try to help other people do the same! I don't want to hear your babble about what you make and how you make it! Post your pay stubs!

This year I expect to make around $71,000.

Your math looks quite right. Only I likely average a little over 2,800 miles a week for 52 weeks(as I have several weeks in the 3,200-3,600 range). Loads I haul, pay the truck range from $3.00 all the way up to $5.00 per loaded mile(I do bounce empty quite a lot). Plus add, my stop pay on multipule drop ($35.50 per stop not including 1st stop) and trailer washout fees($47.50 they try to keep this down as little as possible, but an average would be 3 times a month...so, that's another $1,700 per year I make.

I haul smooth bore chemical tanker. I pull for, DOW, BASF, Dupont, Syngenta ect.

    BigJohn54 Thanks this.

quite honestly your attitude sucks and is really just pissing me off. I DONT LIE, and I too am trying to help others make a living. i will not post my info as i am not that stupid, but if a pm comes and asks me what company i will tell in a message and they can go to website themselves to check it out. which has already happened.

Actually, If i had a scanner I'd post one of mine. Just to see him eat his words. I guess some folks cannot believe that a experienced trucker can still make a living. Heck, I have a few friends that do even better than me running heavy haul and ND oil rig stuff. But they are gone from home much more that me...:biggrin_25525:

Reassuring to see from a couple of drivers from the MN/IA area saying what I have heard from many people in this area about what kind of money can be made. A friend of mine drives for walgreens, and works 4 days a week, is gone only 1 night and makes over 65k.:biggrin_25520:
