Tucson is rough but stay away from that Heartland job unless you get desperate . Also ,Amazon opens soon so hopefully that will bring better options .
There is a yard hostler job available right now at the Home Goods dc working for TCI. YRC freight is hiring right now but I'm pretty sure it's a casual driver. (Probably do more dock work than driving)

I don't know how you feel about self driving trucks but Tusimple is hiring test drivers right now for the testing . Can't post the address on a public forum but they're close to the airport

They're right off the the interstate at Miracle Mile & I-10 . SAIA is in the same neighborhood if you want to stop by there too .
Then of course you have the beverage/food companies that always seem to be hiring
US Foods\Sysco,Hensley,Pepsico,Shamrock foods,System Services of America,Swire CocaCola,CoreMark,etc.
Tucson Transport (sleeper truck)is hiring but very low pay and you layover in California one night per trip .I think they're something like .25 cpm + 10cpm per diem (yikes!)
Legend Trans out of Yuba City (sleeper truck)pulls out of the HomeGoods Dc . They have runs from Tucson to the various stores in California.Last edited: Feb 1, 2019

If you want to stay local, you might consider being a fuel truck driver for Granite Construction. I like GC since they do such a dandy job constructing quality asphalt roads.
As for the mines, you'll have to see what ASARCO and Phelps Dodge has to offer.
If you don't mind pulling reefer, there's Manuel Huerta 60 miles south of Tucson in Nogales.Trucker0923 Thanks this.
