    Day one in the books..

Days was a lot better that I thought it was going to go, didn't hit anything, didn't grind many gears, I made it in some tight spots like the one above, but after 12 hour day it wasn't that bad.
Just have to make sure I remember all that paper work, logs etc.
but went great 8 deliveries and I believe pick ups 12 hrs.

    Day 2 tomorrow at 9am..

    T_Bone and hdcut Thank this.

    Well done.

I can't say I like the fact that it looks like you're blocking a road though. That could wind up causing problems for you eventually.

    Understood.

But here's the quandary we encounter all the time in the LTL sector. Being parked like that, if some idiot paying more attention to yapping on his cell phone than driving comes along and rams your truck, the company will likely call it a preventable accident on your part, despite the fact that you may not have even been in the truck. Keep that in mind.

With that picture you posted, unless you were going to be there for literally less than a minute, I would have had my tractor trailer in an L shape in the dock, minimizing road blockage and potential for idiot drivers to hit you. It's just something for you to work on in the future. For some reason, car drivers tend to drive fairly reckless in industrial areas, especially behind retail if there is a passage to get to a road. I delivered to Shop Rite and Pathmark up there for a few years. ALWAYS watch for idiots walking behind you as you back up, because they will. Good luck, be safe.
