Running Smooth, thank you for the reply :) & I agree, I want to find that stability now more than anything! I am so excited about what can become of all of this one day! I know it's very hard work, but we will stick with it. We are going to give this company a little longer, & then look for someone new if things do not change. We just do not want to jump around, so we must be very selective to keep a great work history. Have a great safe day! & again, thank you for your time & honest, helpful reply!

Chinatown, Hello & thank you for the info & the reply :) My husband works for a Co out of AR, they had a great training & are very nice, but like I said the money has not been here yet. I think this company is considered a good company? lol But I seen where others on here called this one & tmc bottom feeders?! I guess they run low cost & undercut the others?? well, I'm too new to really get into all that. lol my hubby has a twic card, but no other endorsements. being home is good, but right now eating would be great so whatever it takes ;) lol I go with him about ever 5 weeks, I LOVE it!! My boys are older 22, 18, 16 except our 8 year old, we want to take him too, but so far no one will allow that. that was another reason why buying was attractive, so we can have that freedom to do it our way when we want. maybe one day :/ :) & I will do the app's for him, I am his paper work queen ;) haha I take care of whatever needs to be done. I jus want us to be ok soon! But I want to be careful, we like our work history, & do not want to become a job hopper! Thanks again, & be safe!

Hello 77smartin, no, I am not employed. I have kidney failure & related heart issues. I can't breathe well with normal activity, & my muscles are getting weaker by the day... & I'm not old, lol 42, so this has been awful for me, as I am very active, well, I WAS....but I have been doing my part here with the 4 boys, & hubbys secretary ;) We have a lot going on, it's not been easy. Our youngest is home schooled due to seizures & immune system issues. He also has weak muscles. (we are currently undergoing genetic testing to see if mine & his are related) I also have a jewelry shop here, I make & sale custom jewelry. :) I sell on ebay, etsy, facebook. I try to do all I can to help. We had a savings, but he was laid off last Oct, then started cdl training in Feb, with our current company for 3 months, Now it's been almost 9 months with this company with very small income. He is almost at 6 months solo & contract will be over. Hoping things shape up or we will have to ship out ;) We are strong & hard working family. I just want to help get this new career off the ground. My biggest fear is I will go down hill, & he will not be set back up financially for him & the boys. Thanks for your reply. Have a safe day!

Don't worry about job hopping; being new it won't hurt him to change companies a couple of times. If he's not making much money, then jump ship. Do some applications and if a company calls and want to hire him, then go for it. Get that hazmat endorsement.

    lisamomof4boyz Thanks this.

Has he thought of getting off the regional stuff and going OTR? Switching jobs is costly, even more so when your current financial situation sucks and you don't have the experience yet...might just be making lateral moves. Leasing is not, nor will ever be the solution to a bad financial situation especially when it involves a family.

If he can stay out on the road and get in a good flow with freight he will make money. Companies like guys that will run for weeks at a time.

This is all fine and dandy when you don't have a lot of responsibilities. The income lost over time by job hopping is tremendous....especially for a new guy. I don't think this guy can even afford a job change...he might have to change at the current company to make it work for the time being.

Love ya Chinatown...but your retired with little worries...this family is in a pickle and jumping from a burgundy truck to a black truck ain't gonna solve the immediate needs.

lol Thanks you, I agree we are in a pickle :) What do you mean change at the current company? Is there something more he can do that we do not realize? Thanks :)

You said he was running regional...maybe he needs to go OTR....stretch those legs and run for a 3-4 weeks at a time...eat PB&J, drink water and maximize that clock. Not many will straight up ask a company this..."What do I need to do to make more money here?"
