Yes, but there is ALWAYS work available for abled body men willing to work. Some farmer needs his fence repaired, some old lady needs a tree removed. Somebody's toilet needs replaced, etc etc. A guy with the will to work, will always find work.

I agree! You are right on the points you make.& I did have false expectations of the trucking industry. :/ It's hard to go backwards, ugg but I know it can get better. & yes, I have been doing some serious research on the LTL. They have great benefits & pay is even really great for most with the ability to grow! :) We have one here in Charleston, 45 minutes from my home that is looking to hire. It is looking like a great possibility for us... & thanks for the heads up about the USA truck deal. I was so tempted to believe that! lol But something kept telling me it can't be that great or at least that Steady, or everyone would be doing it. I'm sure many ppl love these big trucks & have that dream of owning a beauty all their own, I know we do ;) But I do realize that it could take the better part of our life to do it right, & if your good at it, you may be ok. I love the honesty in these posts, it is keeping me grounded when I get in a tizzy & get to in a hurry. We all need reality checks;) lol So I thank you for your time to give us this heads up! Be safe :)

Hi, thanks for the reply!! :) I have a small jewelry business I run from home. It is a passion of mine since I had to slow down from health issues. Kidney failure with heart and related breathing issues. I hope i can keep it up, my hands are starting to cramp up so bad just typing is horribly painful some days. I also sell whatever i can online. I always find a way to get bread n milk ;) lol My youngest is home schooled for his health, seizures and a weak immunity for which he takes shots for. We have had horrible luck with health the past few years. I just want to be ok again.

Hi, thanks for your thoughts :) my two oldest do ok for themselves, we still supply the heath coverage and glasses, n food. My 22 year old is a Volunteer Fire Captain, he has been working for a few years as an ambulance driver (min wage) but it supports his needs. Car, gas, insurance cell, n such. He lives next door on our land in a small trailer that we own. He helps us when he can, he will buy milk or bread as asked but he don't have much either. He will be attending a local tech school for electric lineman soon. He is also interested in police and has steady applied in many counties near us.
My 18 year old is a recent grad who is working a grocery job. Not many hours, but it's a start. He is also starting back to school next fall for Mechatronics. (If i spelled that correctly) he pays his own cell, gas, n helps when possible.
My 16 yr old is a sophomore in HS, he is taking many colleges level prep classes "AP" courses, and has held a 4.0 or higher his lifetime trying to gain a scholarship to go to a University for Archeology. He works hard already daily on writing papers, n i will not have him working just yet.
    Then lil man is 8.
:) I hope this helps ppl see we do try. The job thing is horrible here!! So many ppl in our shoes from dislocated miners. N not enough work. We thought we were choosing smart by getting away and into trucking where they move the world. I know we have to have truckers, n so I felt it was a good choice. I know things will get better. I've learned so much just listening to all of you here, for that I thank you. Be safe :) oh, and does anyone want a custom made aluminum truckers bracelet with a name or saying on it?? ;) hehehe gotta try right!? Jkjk Thanks ttys

Thank you for your reply :) & oh I wish I could've saved enough to have gotten us all expenses paid up to now which would have been a year in November since lay off. We had enough to make it about 6 months in savings, and that covered all things. So not sure about all other ppl and savings, but we still were not ever so well off we could live a full year on savings lol. But i'm proud of how long we have made it, and we have made serious sacrifice along the way. We will continue to find ways to make it, we refuse to stay in this mess too long. Lol thanks again!!

Oh and there is no way to get medicaid and help with a gross wage of 900 week. :/ I wish they counted after all these darn 4-6 hundred in deductions. Lol

He is correct, about 5 months. His 6 months since being solo ends November 30th. So the contract he agreed to work to cover the cdl school cost will be paid for then :)
