Interested in purchasing a truck late winter next year. This is the response I’m getting from my local dealership after inquiring on a new truck.
“I can help you with your truck purchase. If you are looking for a truck in 5 years I do suggest you start looking know because production is out that long.”
I’ll probably end up calling him, but does this sound realistic? Or is he meaning for a custom spec truck?
New trucks are backlogged 5 years?

The local KW dealer down the road had probably close to 100 new trucks on the lot a year ago. Today, just 2 trucks up front and the back lot looks pretty empty.
Production on everything is way behind. Doesn't matter what you're looking for. -
Kw is 6-9 months out depending on specs……..

Are brand new truck prices also going to be inflated like the used truck market? I noticed lonemountain doesn’t even have any in stock but raised prices by I think 10k?

You aren’t going to get any deals. At least for a while

I talked with my local freightliner dealer and was told if I ordered the truck soon. It would be here by second quarter of next year.

I talked to international and put a reservation on a new truck. Wont be ready for 16 months at a minimum and may be pushed back further if the parts shortage worsens.
