5 yrs sounds like an exaggeration. Wouldn’t be the first Salesman to exaggerate things a bit. Lol. No one knows what Truck availability will be in 5 yrs. I hauled parts for GMs top selling vehicle. Orders were filled for 18 mos. 3 yrs later the plant was shuttered, due to slow sales. Semi Trucks hit an all time high in sales, around late 1998. One year later Companies started cancelling orders. The Market was flooded with repos. New Trucks sat on the Dealers Lot, then sat at the Factory lots. Freightliner Cleveland plant went from 3 to 1 daily work shift. Even Yellow Freight bought used Trucks for the first time ever. 2001, a one yr old Freightliner Classic with less than 100k miles, sold at auction for less than half Original price. Could be bought at a Dealer for $60k. No one knows what the future holds. Always a backlash, in trends. That’s for sure.

Find a better dealer, that is BS.
    5 to 6 months currently get a new T800.

5 years must be some new model, still in the R&D stage, and will be built out of gold, and hand assembled by 50 year old virgins.

I would make friends with some dealers. Someone will cancel an order, go out of business, lose their deposit, and you can pay full retail and make their day.

I don't intend to replace my truck again. I would drop in a new engine first.

Depends on what kind of truck you need. If you need a specialized unit your kinda limited on options because either you wait for the perfect truck or pay a fortune to upgrade an already expensive peice of NEW equipment.
