    Ladies and Gentlemen...

This thread is getting a little heated, over things that really shouldn't apply to the original question...

I think a reasonable counterpoint is do here:

canadians pay taxes. the government writes check for health car. ergo you're still paying for health care, just less than the u.s. is paying.

In my opinion you are not paying less because it is social insurance. You are paying less because the U.S. already footed the bill for all of the r and d work. We get stiffed for the entire operation and you get stiffed for only production and profit margin. OR you guys ain't paying your fair share of the total bill.

Canada has a pathetic national defense budget. They often brag what louts the U.S. is for spending so much on a military, we are war-mongers.

well... canada is a bit closer to the russians than we are... why don't they have a huge military??? they don't need one... preferring we foot the bill and send our troops if anything goes wrong.

Canada has plenty of jobs??? 30 years ago canada had squat and was the first place U.S. corporations sent factories to. (g.m. the biggest) so canadians could work in the factories for a pitence (looney actually).

It was a good thing for canada at the time. currently it still isn't a bad thing but not nearly as great as it was. this because now many of those jobs are being exported from canada... because the canadians won't work cheap anymore. Canada is a great place, I truly give you that, and love the place and its people. =but= I gotta tellya... you my friend are headed the same place we are.

It isn't americans or canadians doing it to each other either, its corporations doing it to us all. We were just first in line is all... but there is plenty of poverty to go around and the corporations won't stop or quit or get tired until everyone has had there fair share... canada included.

I think the american trucks are much cheaper than the european trucks.
Im from sweden and thinking of import a volvo vn670 just becouse the american price. volvo fh 12 with 480 hk 3-axl and leather interior cost about 130000 euro and if you can get a fh 12 500 hk for 60000 euro you should start to sell trucks (start with me). if you thinking america is expensive you should take a look in australia where a fh16 cost about 300000 euro.

I do believe you will find the trucks built for north america will be much more luxurious than what you may be used to. Most drivers these days are spoiled rotten and expect every goofy amenity available. Now I'm not knocking anyone here everyone needs some creature comforts.

Sam: Here's another site with Trucks on it for all of NA.

Nevermind, I'm not able to post the link :biggrin_2552:

It's a tough time to get into the trucking business in the states at the moment. If you get a chance try to line something up before you get here.

    Best of luck.
