Looking to buy chain holder and put on my new trailer. Would like one that locks. Anyone have a nice set up they would share with me? Would want it to lock so chains are not lost or stolen.

Google: "Tire chain racks" and see what's available locally. There are a lot of options and I've used a ton of different ones over the years, both locking and not.

My recommendation is don't bother with locks as they fill up with grit and grime -- especially on a trailer -- and I guarantee it will be seized when you need to open it the most. I've never lost a set of tire chains. I do use the locking kind, but with a pin instead of the lock.

My preference for racks are the sliding ones so they're out of the way, but can slide out so you're not having to get under the trailer when needed (TBH, I almost never had chains mounted on the trailer, always on the truck). A simpler, better option for a trailer could be side-facing hooks. Whatever you do, don't scrimp on the hangers or hardware. Get good quality, heavy-duty stuff.

If you've got the room, hang mud flaps both in front of and behind the chains. This will cut down on the road grime and make chains a little more user-friendly when needed.

If you keep them on racks on your truck then they’re a lot closer to where you actually need them. When I was carrying chains I had a rack on each side, each had a single chain on the bottom and a three railer on top.

I was looking at the sliding ones. Not sure how they slide unless I can see them in person. Figured they would get stuck. Love the mud flap idea as well. Will do something to that nature. Thanks

I really don’t want them on the truck for personal reasons. To many ######## around my neighborhood and my trailer is in a secure location while home.
