No your orientation time is the week it takes for all the paper work to go through and be checked out. Are you getting paid now?

For any of you who are looking for a trucking school in Minnesota, I just got a line from the administrator's assistant that Dakota County Technical College will open up their Class A CDL 8 week course in December if enough people sign up. Not sure how many she already has but I just wanted to put this out there as an FYI. I'm signing up for sure!
    Be well everyone!

Good luck! I grew up out there and lived in the area up until about 1990; took some classes at the Tech College while I was in high school and it was a great place.

Now that was about 35 years ago or so...

The DCTC class didn't start on December 6th like they wanted it to because of lack of students. They are hoping to get it going sometime in January but I won't be able to go there after all. I have to put off my training until sometime in February because I need a partial knee replacement which will be done on December 31st.
This surgery is something that I've waited for for the last 12 years but had to wait because I wasn't old enough. Go figure.

Good luck there, and its best to get things out of the way like that. Make sure you get a Dr's note explaining that it would be OK for you to do the things that are required of a truck driver. Getting in and out of that truck can have its days. Especially if you are in and out of trucks during the winter. One slip of the foot on the steps and there goes your knee. So be careful and take your time healing.

TYVM Shriner for that advice! I hadn't thought of that part of the recovery. I won't start with a trainer for just over 9 weeks after surgery, so I think I should be fine but I will get that doctor's note just in case the company asks for it.
