They already gouge as it is....why don't we gouge our cpm instead based on conditions
snow related weather: +0.10 cpm extra per mile
excessive east coast traffic: $25 hr plus cpm
dumb planner mistakes: retroactive cpm to where he/she made planning mistakes plus .15cpm on top
company refusal to fix dot violation(s): .35cpm on top of your cpm for dealing with stupidity and the potential loss of your life
dealing with ahole shippers and receivers: $100 per violation plus free chipotle

I dunno about price gouging,.. I'm in Bridgeport Ct right now. Signs up on 95 saying travel bans in effect after 9pm. Govts shut down all over up here tomorrow. I got a load that picks up in Concord NH. I tell her I doubt I'll be able to make it there tomorrow. She says thats fine,.. she doubts anyone will be there to load me. But if I can make it there.,. 'maybe' they will load me. It delivers to El Paso, its a 21k lb machine of some kind. Paying $6250 for roughly 2350 mi. I want to get loaded and deliver it by Friday AM if I can, so I can get a weekend load out of El Paso. Otherwise I'll be parked there till Monday.
I'm guessing I will probably be stuck here till at least Weds. If they say roads are passible, I'm going to try to head up that way tomorrow. Slick roads with an empty step deck are not exactly favorable travel conditions.

I see a lot of areas where they closed the roads down at 11pm last night and ended up with a dusting of snow by this morning. Maybe we should contact the AG and ask him who we should charge for unnecessary down time. Better yet, I think I am going to put an application in for this meteorologist position I saw advertised, no experience necessary.
