LA has space at least...NYC is like, "How am I not going to touch another vehicle here!?".

    Hey,
I agreed that NYC is not that bad... never said it was perfect, or even close.

I must agree with all the issues that have been mentioned. I got my CDL in NYC, some days were flat out demoralizing trying to maneuver around the narrow streets with cars on both sides.

    Mattflat362 Thanks this.

Another part of NYC is when you are talking about a load and asking where it's going and they tell you it's just off the belt PARKWAY and ocean PARKWAY. With no knowledge trucks can't run any of those roads and they think I'm feeding them a line. Changes everything...

NYC itself isn't as much the problem as the traffic around it. By the time you're actually IN the city, stress levels are already pretty high from morons who love to cut you off, do 100+ in 55 zones, random traffic stoppages for no apparent reason, and then there's the fact that there's VERY few places to park. So, you already have a few hours drive time under your belt, before you even get close to delivering.

Is there any actual truck parking in Manhattan itself? When I drove coach buses, 45 footers, they always had us park over on the west side between 12th and 10th Avenue around 45th-46th Streets. Not sure if trucks can park in the city or not. He'll, I would not mind taking my home time in NYC but I would if I knew that my truck was not going to be there when I got back to where I parked it at.
