Is that motel at little ferry nj a decent spot to park it and leave it for say a weekend to go see nyc and statue of liberty etc to make a mini vacation out of it? Always coming back nightly to sleep in that motel.

Don't be lazy and cheap, park somewhere in NJ (on west side of GWB the is few truck stops) then catch UBer to nearest train or subway station. ???? .Profit!

    Yeah it's a decent place , less than a 100 bucks a night .
Parking for about 20 trucks , liquor store in mall across the street and Neal's pizza will deliver a heart attack right to your room .
Never had anything messed with there and it's security patrolled .
Come across the gwb and stay on rt 46 west and cross the steel bridge over the Hackensack river to the traffic circle and bear to the 1st right onto Bergen turnpike , then a quik 1st right and you are there .

Glad you like it.I delivered to NYC quite a few times.I wouldn't go as far as saying I liked it but it's just another city with a lot of traffic and ruins your HOS for the day.Far as GW, only time it's a breeze is 3 am.

I had time to burn on my clock tonight, so I crossed it. It didn't really slow down too bad, I crossed the CT border at 1800, and parked in Jersey City 90 minutes later.

I have driven in the 3 largest cities in this country. Granted, LA was fairly easy because the shipper was right off the freeway, but Chicago, if you know the city, is by far the easiest of the 3. I hated going into Brooklyn, which I did several times a week, with multiple stops. Chicago has wide streets, and several truck routes. Truckstops in the metro area and clearly marked clearances on bridges.

I've said before I loved driving around NYC. I never had a problem anywhere in 7 years, 3 or 4 nights a week and we went to all 5 boroughs and Long Island. Slept in alleys, in the truck;), on streets waiting in the middle of the night for someplace to open, Brooklyn, Harlem, The Bronx, Lower Manhattan, delivered right off the streets in Manhattan pulling pallets off of the back, had to back in places on busy streets with people driving around me on sidewalks because they didn't want to wait, maybe that's why I liked it so much, it was always something different. Once you figured out all of the streets, expwy's, and bridges in and out, it was a piece of cake!:D

Cut my teeth there---and most of the stories you hear--are 2d and 3d hand..if it was near as bad as people made out--Nobody would go--lol...
Bzinger---Im guessing you are talking about the meat market---they are still pretty good about pkg---the produce mkt on the other hand has gotten pretty tight about gettin in---seen quite a few folks turned around(actually backed out at gate)if the receiver isn't open at time of arrival--or if they have too many truks inside at time for said receiver---the amount of dropped trailers out back is completely out of hand--and most haven't been moved since I ran in there in an R Model w/a coffin bunk--lol
Also if you havent been in a spell---Food Center Drive is now One Way---so you enter the Meat Mkt slightly differently

So how we going in now ?
Back between the fish market and the south end of the meat market and then a left into the gate ?
