I guess I'm finally getting to the point where I'm a crotchety old trucker. This no forced dispatch and being able to refuse loads to NYC is rediculous to me. "Back in my day" you went where you were dispatched. NYC is no different than any other city. It has this stigma because it is big, overpopulated, and old. If you look at it, it is the easiest city to find your way around. Just be patient, take your time, use common sense, and plan ahead and you'll be fine.

Too many so called truck drivers could never make it 10-20 years ago like those if us that had no say in where we went. Load to NYC, you went to NYC. I hated it, but I did it. And it made me a stronger driver. Because to drive in the city you have to be able to handle a truck, not just drive it.

Like I said, I guess I'm getting old and crotchety...

I'd like to have a handful of vinyl clings made up... and stick 'em on unsuspecting DART driver's vans. That'd be a hoot!

Oh and by the way if anyone need any clarification--just go back to my original post few pages ago about NYC--or any of the other threads about NYC or Hunts Point--or most of the other places that everyone BS about--cause like I've said too many times 99%about what you hear about the big bad city is BS--and usually being spewed by someone who has never been--A city is a city is a city--part of the job--just roll with it!
