    Roehl is practical. I'd venture to say most of the big companies pay mileage that way, but of course I could be dead wrong. But Roehl pays practical. xD

    What about pay during training? Soon I'll be putting myself throught a private CDL school. What should I expect when I'm on the road with a trainer for a month? I make about $760 every two weeks currently. Is it reasonable to expect at least that during training?

    Totally depends on the company you go with. If you show up w/o a CDL, and only a permit, you won't make anything. No one can legally pay you. The payment to the trainee thru different companies varies between $350 to $600 (or 12cpm which ever is greater). And depending on the company, you'll be out w/ the trainer for more than a month.

    I don't have all the relevant statistics in my head, but a little due diligence on your part (Google the companies you are interested in) should pull up the info you need.

    The way I see it, and So far it seems true;

    A company could pay you .50CPM but Still run you only 700 miles a week and not making anything sure the company may have brand spanking new trucks for you and have great policies but still not making anything
    or
    A company could pay you .30 CPM but still run you 2-3K miles a week and make a hole lot more than the other and may have older trucks that have been kept in fairly good conditions.

    It's not really how much you get paid; Its how many miles you are going to be running, It's not how fast you can go down the highway it,s How long you can go. (I was told by my Gpa a Vet Driver of CR England back in the 60's/70's)

    Most training companies pay between $350 and $400 per week during your training period, regardless of how many miles you drive. It's a flat 'salary'.
    As Dragon said, do your due diligence.

    Yep. Depending on your company, the terms can be interchangeable.
