DPF and a daycab, what's not to like?

These vents in the side of the sleeper are good for something. Doing 10 at a customer in the boonies. Cell signal marginalized. I lose it. Stick the phone in the open vent. I got it back again. All while kicking back in bed. :)

Noticed driving last night. I can’t multitask my mind, thinking. I’m spending too much concentration looking beyond the headlights. Within the headlights. And anything I can see. Need input. I know it will be difficult stopping this fully loaded truck. Lights don’t give me enough warning. I will drive slower on purpose.

Not like during the day. I got all the input way up ahead. All around me. I can looky loo around. Think. It’s easy. I’ve always multitasked my mind.

Night time driving is like playing poker, you are working with incomplete information.

I am very focused on scanning ahead for glowing eyeballs, potholes, unlit vehicles on the shoulder, etc. I typically drive about 5-10 mph slower at night on unlit two lane roads, especially if I don't know that road like the back of my hand.

I keep a handheld spotlight right next to the driver's seat. This really helps when making tight turns, like when getting off a narrow two lane road on to a muddy goat track, or trying to see road signs or signs for oil rigs that are 50 yards off the paved highway.

I just stay solar powered as much as possible and call it good enough. I still need to go into the Truck stop bathroom and yell at my dispatcher for making me sit for a 34. :D

As for night driving though I never really run into problems, I think, in part, because I have excellent night vision. I do find it more difficult to drive the Truck at night, versus my car, without getting sleepy. Early mornings (4am) don't seem to cause any problems though.

Wish I could be more help.

F9A81634-ED1D-4FE6-9EE0-799D128D7A76.jpeg Got me a red and near infrared light. I wanted something with the health benefits of tanning. But concentrared on health without a ton of power needed. Not just vitamin D either. Never had a problem with that. Know from having lived at night. Did tanning that did a ton for me.
I put this thing on my left foot. Had swelling from around an extension. They’re like corns but more serious.
This is definitely working on that. Getting better.
Also surprised. I use it on my head. Am sleeping deeper and longer. Feel need for that sleep. Getting more out of sleep.
Glad I got this. Will be working with it more. This without taking melatonin.

Got a membership at anytime fitness. Was $456 for a year. Good across the country. Will probably only use this one here.
It’s someplace for me to go.
I need to get back serious and focused on my health. Or I know I can’t last.

If you are having trouble seeing at night you can try running more highways. They are less crowded and you can often use your high beams.

I have a habit of glancing at my GPS about every 30s or so. It's good for showing me which way the road is going to curve before it comes into view.

One of my favorite online games has a small "mini map" on the corner of my screen. It allows me an over view of the whole situation, I can track enemy movements and make more informed decisions on my next move, so I am not advancing completely blind. If you dont look at the mini map about every 15s an opponent on the other team will make you pay for your lack of map awareness. Theres micro and macro awareness required in that game.

The GPS when its working I think of a bit like a mini map. I can see an upcoming curve and about how sharp the curve will be before I can see it.

I wish I could say more but as the years went on me being awake mostly at night my vision seemed to adapt a little to lack of light. I still have a hard time seeing an unhooked, empty flatbed in a dark parking spot. Check my parking spots with a flashlight first to make sure that spot isnt "empty" for a reason. Lol
