Mount Joy's Program was really good in my opinion, and you do get 1 on 1 training as long as the class size isn't too big, they have 1 classroom teacher, and like 5-8 drivers training and best of all, they train you at your own pace, if your having problems double clutching they'll have someone 1 on 1 with you in the track. the only thing I can tell you that was bad is Stay away from Troy, he's got a tendency to get a lil frustrated and loud sometimes, and as long as you can tell when big Ed is joking, and being serious, you'll do just fine

They even have field trips to safety training grounds and sometimes you get to see things burn - :D - All in all I'd say it's a pretty good program and worth going to

Hello from west Texas, Kid. PA, huh? That's my area, too. :yes2557: I'm from MD but I lived in York for 3yrs before moving down here to TX about 7mths ago. What kind of work are you looking for? OTR, regional or local?

I worked for D.M. Bowman for 3yrs. They are based out of Williamsport MD but they have a pneumatic dry bulk division in York. I loved doing the tanker thing but if that's not for you they also have dedicated Tractor Supply accounts and regional runs. When I worked there they did hire new drivers so you may want to give them a call. If you need their numbers PM me because I'm not sure if I'm allowed to give out the numbers here.
I can also tell you that ECM and Frito Lay (in York) are coveted companies to work for but I'm not sure if they hire students. Also in York there is JP Donmoyer, Pitt Ohio, Bulkmatic, Modern, Webster Trucking (they haul frozen goods out of the C&S warehouse on Susquehanna Trail.) There are lot's more I can't think of now but keep looking you'll find something. I'm not going to recruit for Bowman, they have their issues, but all in all not a bad place to work.
