I am trying to get qualified for Willis Shaw. Actually if I get approved by them, that's where I am going to go. I know they haul a lot food products so I am definitely inclined to go that route. Rick, what will get a prepass redlighted?

Hello everyone. I am unable to go to Willis Shaw, my original first choice. I was fired from my last job and that disqualified me. It looks like the same thing is going to happen with Swift. That leaves Star (Morton), Covenant, and Western Express. I hear mixed reports about all of them. After talking with recruiters from all, I believe that Western will give me the best chance to learn the most about the trucking industry, in terms of the fact they have flatbed and van. I am just going to roll with them since they are local. After a year, I will check out other options. From what I gather, the miles definitely seem to be there, which will offset the low pay. I am just happy to have a means of income, so hopefully this will work out ok

Congratulations on enrollment and best of luck to you in school and beyond. Remember, like everything in life, schooling, trucking and everything else is what you make of it. Surround yourself with positive, supportive people and enjoy the ride...er....drive!

I am presently a student at TN Technology Center in Nashville. This course is PTDI certified, which means that it exceeds TN. minimum requirements. I have one full week to go and my pre-trip/backing skills/ road-test is on 2/22/12. The instructors are very informative and patient with all levels of drivers. Part of the PTDI course is going on a night drive which may not be offered at other schools. The cost is $1193.00 total. You can qualify for the Lotto grant which will take care of half of that cost. The classes fill up quick so register early. I signed up in September 2011 and started January 3,2012. We have had several recruiters like McElroy, Roehl,Schneider,HuffnPuff, JBS,Maverick,Werner. I have pre-hire letters from other companies besides them. Apply to as many as possible. I can't say enough about this school and how my life is going to change in the next few weeks. Good luck.

Great Billy! Mr. Bently and Mr.Warren are fantastic instructors.

I stop in sometimes and tell my experiences. Might want to check with Crete. They want you out 18-21 days..........that is the bad side. They pay practical miles. They do a regional that they claim will get you home every week.
