Which does not mean a three piece suit.
It means to dress casually for the weather.

    Trucking, remember?

As to acting the part, you only have to be pleasent and agreeable.

What can you expect? OMG! Not an easy answer.

Going out with a Mentor for 4 - 6 weeks can be one of the most difficult and challenging things you could ever do in your life.

Learning to drive a truck, in all types of weather, in so many different traffic conditions, being in a thousand different situations that you have never had to face before, is rough.

Stick it out, the rewards are worth it, don't give up!

I thought basic training in the army was hard, getting thro the time with my trainer was even harder than that, it made basic in the army seem real easy by comparison.

Your experience will be your own, unique. Some have a great time and relationship with their trainer, a real friendship builds. Other trainees hate their trainers, but stuck out the time and then put the past behind them when they solo out and get their own trucks.

Remember, what you are leaving behind, is exactly what you will be returning to if you quit.

No one can make you or force you to do anything. Its a real challenge believe me it is, starting out in this industry, its a life style all its own. And learning how to live it, each day, with whatever the new day brings, can be a challenge.

Don't give up, your trainer, the company, everyone wants to see you succeed. It may or may not be an easy experience for you, its unique like I say and different for each person.

    What can you expect?

You'll have to work, when your tired, cold and hungry. In all kinds of weather, day and night, whenever and where ever the work is to do and what ever must be done to do it.

90% of the time, its a breeze, just sitting behind the wheel, listening to music, enjoying whatever it is you like to drink, smoking if you smoke, and just enjoying the scenery and the beauty of whatever surrounds you. Then the other 10% of the time, is the challenge of finding a place to park, finding where you gotta pick up or deliver to, how to get into those places, and figuring out where to do and what to do next. Dealing with city traffic, tight turns, impatient cars and other big trucks, and dealing with your own emotions and thoughts all at the same time.

Learning and mastering trucking is a series of small steps, and at times even giant leaps. But the beginning can be very challenging and even hard. But just stick it out, because the day comes when the keys to your own truck are handed to you, and the rewards are there.

Good luck to you my friend, pray, every moment every day. You'll be suprised to find how many truckers put their faith in God to find the strength and help they need to make it through each day.
