I have glanced thru the forums, but either it's to buried or I just need to spend more time looking. I just got my CDL and I have no experience with no certificate from a driving school. I was at a major school in Indianapolis, and on the last day of the last week my carrier pulled the job offer because of an accident I had forgot to tell them about last october and it wasn't on my MVR yet either. So I went to one in atlanta and payed them to do some private tutoring to help me pass my test. So now here I am without a job, with a Class A CDL, with no experience. No one will touch me. I want to go OTR right away and just basically live in the truck so that I can survive in the first year's wages and still get my child support paid. I need to find a trucking company that will let me go OTR with no experience and no certificate, but am failing. I have been looking for about 3 weeks, I undertand I can't just get a job right away, but need to start working ASAP.
Can anyone suggest a carrier that might be amenable to my situation?

Have you called the large carriers like Schneider or Swift? They may have an offer for you...
-
Any of the BFI's (Swift, Werner, CR England, Prime, Schnieder, Knight, CRST, etc.) will take you and anyone else with a pulse.

Most of them won't touch me because of my accident last october. I have tried Schneider, werner, swift, crst. Thank you but I need someone smaller I think, or someone who doesn't mind the accident and will let me get the certificate. Those 2 things seems to be the most common denial reasons.

I think your'e pretty much out of luck until that accident is at least 1 year old. The other problem is the DIY (do it yourself) license. The fact you don't have a certificate of completion from an accredited truck driving school makes your job search even tougher.
Look for jobs such as (class B) straight truck, dump truck, cement truck, garbage truck etc. They normally are more open to applicants with liitle to no experience.
Heck even a delivery driver for a lumber suppy store may offer you a chance to put your license to work.
I know these are not OTR jobs and you wont be able to live in the truck but it may be a stepping stone until that accident falls off.onegomoo Thanks this. -
Ok I'll check that out. Thank you for your time. May check out the lumber supply places and the dump trucks. Also checking into getting passenger endorsement and working for the local city bus company if I can get in there. Heck if nothing else it may allow me to save up the money to get the certificate on my own.

Check out K&B. They're out of Ia. They do have local drivers around Canton. I drove for them for a month. They're a little on the barely running legal deal, and they had me otr when I was supposed to just be a shuttle driver.(the reason I left). They will run you hard too.(experience) Wont hurt, good luck to you. We all had to start somewhere.
