I will be starting my training for my CDL in a couple months. I am at a point in my life that I want to do something for myself. I am very excited and nervous at the same time. I can' wait to travel and see different areas. I also worry about how things will change at home.

Good for you. Time to care for yourself.
Where will you attend training; have you decided?Last edited: Dec 5, 2017

Yes, several schools in your area. They will all get the desired results; a cdl and job.
Here's one thread on one school in your area: Pinellas Technical College
Some companies will reimburse all or part of the cdl school tuition directly back to you. For example, Contract Freighters Inc. reimburses up to $4000.00 and some companies up to $7000.00 or more. They usually pay this in monthly installments.
Some trucking companies have their own inhouse cdl school and it's free to you if you agree to work for that company for 12 months after graduation.
A few companies that hire new cdl grads in your area:
J&R Schugel
Abilene Motor Express
Stevens Transport
Freymiller
Contract Freighters Inc.
Milan Express
FFE (Frozen Food Express)
All the above hire new cdl grads so if the website has "experience required" apply anyway. For example, Freymiller hires new cdl grads through their "Restore Program" which is described on their website.Last edited: Dec 5, 2017
