The general rule of thumb is that if you know the name of a trucking company then they pay squat. The best paying companies are little mom and pop operations you have never heard of. They are also the most difficult to get hired on with because unlike the mega's they actually have higher standards. If you survive for a year with a mega look for a mom and pop operation and keep your fingers crossed when you apply. Better yet, go to a trade school and learn an in demand trade that makes you valuable to an employer and forget about being a company driver.

Goroehl.com find the zip code hiring bar, type yours see if they're hiring in your area or call a recruiter. Training is short pay is better than most and equipment is good. Why auto trans idk but if that bothers you then don't bother with us. Conway I hear/read is good too. Idk what mom and pop outfit pays well that don't have junk equipment in your area. Being from Orlando myself even with experience finding a good fit is hard. It's not like the rest of the country where a good company with all its perks are a dime a dozen. I'd say just do a good research on here to find what fits you by reading and scouring company threads asking questions. Making good money as a company driver will only take time wont be fresh out no matter how good anyone feeds you a line of bs. Maybe lease purchase or if you have the money set aside to purchase a truck in my opinion is the only way to make better money outside the company driver aspect. Good luck.

Perhaps your numbers are wrong so I'll give you a true run down. Local McDonalds pay $9.00per hour and employers are allowed to work employees 45 hours without paying overtime so let's do the math. 45X9.00 =$405.00 You used 90 hours so lets use it again 90-45=45 hours over time at time and 1/2=13.5 per hour and over time pay is 45X13.5=607.50 so 90 hours = 1,012.50. If you are going to use hours to prove some moot point use the correct figures.

I am A Lease/op at Trans Am and when I first started with them I was very skepitical about leasing a truck and getting enough miles. Some weeks are better than others, but I will honestly tell you that Im happy with what Im doing. I average around 2700-3000 miles/week.

You are telling him to lease purchase? I have never heard anyone recommend that before on this forum since it is a guaranteed failure. Purchasing a truck outright with your own authority is a possibility though.
