I've been around here and there, just don't have the time like I did before for posting as much ... more work, but that's a good thing. I still try to peek in and see what's happening time to time. I've come across several of you good folks in here since coming back to driving and some of the veteran sage drivers provided invaluable advice to me that paid off in spades. If I can pay it forward to other newbies then that's my way of giving back what I took from you guys. Be safe out there ... it's a crazy world.

No I don't tell anyone what to do nor do I care what anyone thinks what I have to say yet its a open forum. He's a adult he can make his own decision. Also there's companies with good lease programs not all are bad like the stories on here. Plus if any driver that has enough drive to make as much as he wants which path he takes to get there doesn't matter. It's not impossible and can be done.

Totally welcome. It's one of them want in one hand #### in the other and see which ones comes out fullest type of things. Although I'm an O/O it is pretty much the same when I haul for a new broker. If you've been with them for a while sometimes (not always) they'll give you a better rate than one of the guys that's never hauled for them. It relates over to the company driver section as well. When you're a new don't expect much other than the bottom of the barrel. It ain't easy so you just have to pay your dues and work your way up or decide that trucking isn't for you...I would also suggest dropping in on the other thread that was posted by a member in the service. There's a discussion about the B.S. in trucking read it. Understand it, you will then understand why it's the truth when we say "the only thing tougher than a trucker is his wife".

Good luck as for averitt I havn't heard much bad about them but I havn't seen many averitt trucks rolling around either but talking to the few I have seen they don't seem to mind their job. Learn how to shift gears, learn how to fill out a paper log, appreciate working hard and you can make a run of driving a truck. You will soon find out that I don't sugar coat anything in trucking. there's an old boy that's got a signature...reads something like "Considered a professional...paid like an amature...labeled and outlaw...treated like a convicted felon sounds like fun lets sign up some rookies." Just spent 5 minutes looking for him and couldn't find his profile to get it exact but couldn't so that'll have to do for now. It's true though. Of course trucking is what you make it. I love it it's been good for me helped me out with a lot of things in life but this is not the great industry a lot of people think it is. Just wait give it a while you'll see what I'm talking about eventually with the B.S. hopefully you'll push through that and make it. I'm going to look back on this in 45 years with a mower idling outside my window trying to fall asleep and hope I can look back and say I have no regrets...although I know that won't be true. Anyway good luck.
