I don't believe I'm ignoring. I posted to get information and advice from people that have been involved in the industry I have interest in. Which I have in fact gotten both of those things. I strongly disagree with "he cannot get leased on with a company with his DUI.". It's fair to say that I may not be able to right now. I do not live in Canada, I am not a felon. However, I believe I noted that I am in the very beginning stages of consideration. Perhaps, if tomorrow I drop $30k on a truck and disregard the popular topic of of this thread being that I need to wait for this DUI to settle, I would say that I at which point would of ignored what everyone is saying. What I am doing is considering each persons perspective and comparing them to distinguish trends that I can determine as factual information as opposed to bias comments.

There's no biased comments. There is fact. 99.9% of companies WILL NOT touch you with a DUI under 3-7 years old. That's fact. It doesn't matter if you want to believe it. It doesn't change that its fact. Most insurance companies aren't going to touch you and if one does, the premiums will be so high that the premiums are what you're going to working for. If you decide to throw money away then that's on you. You came here, you asked, and you didn't like the answers. Welcome to the real world. Actions have consequences.

Agreed here...None of us have a vested interest if the OP is able to get leased on with/hired or decides to try and get his own insurance. It affects none of us. We all tried to give info that each one of us either has experienced or has a working knowledge of....Other than 1 post No one has been really ugly or judgmental or just thrown out an un-educated opinion...but the OP will make his own decision , and he will be the one living with it. Good Points you made here Joe....you like the rest of are giving him the TRUTH....THAT is what he needs to hear before blowing a wad of money on a dream that won't ever come to fruition....

A lot of drivers mistakenly believe truck driving is mostly about driving when it is mostly about "managing" your rig, and a lot of drivers think becoming an O/O is mostly about driving and freedom when it is mostly about managing a small business. I think others have covered the DUI issue.

Just put your nose to the ground and ask around about hiring you the worst they can say is no. there's plenty of drivers out there with more than one DUI
