I was reading on their site. They do not guarantee a job driving with them after you graduate from their academy.

RedSonja61 Thanks this.

They'll hire you though; they use that "not guaranteed" to weed out undesirables that managed to pass the school, but not a good fit for Swift.RedSonja61 Thanks this. -
Thank you for your assistance with the names of the companies. I will follow up. Just a question, what does a bad company look like???

If you sign on with one of the companies China mentioned, then 3 months later move to a different company, then 6 months later you move to yet a 3rd company, is the problem with the company or with the driver? It is likely a combination of the driver not being a good fit for the company AND the company not being a good fit for the driver.
I'll leave you with this anecdote. I spent 28 years as a super-regional driver (seldom went west of the Mississippi River). I found the local job I have now and I love it. Paid by the hour, home every night, etc. They hired another driver a few weeks after me and all he wanted to do was get experience and move on to an OTR company. He was very much disappointed when I told him a lot of companies won't consider local work as experience, but I advised him if OTR was where he ultimately wanted to be, then use his time with our company to work on and improve his backing ability. By doing that, he would be ahead of so many new OTR drivers.
You see, I finally found the job I can taper off into the sunset with and the next guy just wanted some experience so he could move on to the next chapter in his life.Shecky, Speed_Drums, RedSonja61 and 3 others Thank this. -
I hear the wisdom in your words. Thank you.
88 Alpha and Speed_Drums Thank this.
