Hello there! I need some insight on a few companies. I am a 25 year old student that lives in PA that will test out of school and obtain my Cdl on the August 16th. I already have pre hires with TMC, US Express, Werner and Schneider. I don't know much about any of them except what I read on here. Different people have different opinions of course which is great. I Want to make Good money 800+ a week would be nice but I also want at least 5-7 days home a month. I have a few friends that work for US Express and they are all in the dedicated fleet out of Shippensburg PA. The like it but they make anywhere between 500-600 a week after taxes and I could have continued installing cable for Comcast to make that. Not that is bad money but I just want to make more and I would like to travel the united states rather than just my surrounding area. I am a very hard worker and would not mind pulling tarps, strapping down loads or unloading a dry van if need be. I also do not want to work for a company that has a lot of old equipment in the fleet. Being broke down on the side of the road does not make you any money. I guess what im asking is what company has the most earning potential for rookies? I read a lot of good and bad things about all of the companies I have pre hires to but everyone is going to have a different experience. Help please!!!!!!!! Very open minded and more than willing to consider and apply other companies.

that's 3000+paid miles at the normal starting pay....probably going to have to fingerprint loads to get close to that.

Your friends didn't explain this to you?

Sarcasm is great. It wins over positivity anyday! Its more than possible. An old buddy of mines went to tmc and got percentage pay and made more then what im looking for. He got in an accident and oissed hot and that was the end of his short lived trucking career. But anythings possibke with the right attitude.

Wow your trucking career will be short lived if you think you are going to make 800+ off the bat as a rookie, and with those companies you listed. I don't know how much flat bed freight pays, but still you only make money in this industry when the wheel's are rolling. Schneider and Werner have a lot of those dollar general type operations. So they pay you to unload the truck. That's the only way I see you making that type of money with a dry box company. Hope you didn't burn any bridges at comcast, because you might be back there pretty soon.

So doing a dedicated account that pays for unload has more promise as oppose to a flat bedding job? Never woulda thought that. Definitely something ill consider and look into.

TMC pays decent as long as you work your butt off. Left door closed, right foot down.

Dedicated account where you have several stops and have to unload the product COULD get some decent money in your pocket.

I STRESS could for a reason as I did the Kohl dedicated for Premier, got paid cpm and unload pay, took home on the avg 1000. They paid lumpers more to unload the truck then me. Go figure

New drivers RARELY get those jobs.

I started with Swift and was making $800wk after a month solo its not inpossiable just gotta be willing to run hard I made $43, 000 my 1st yr.

Dont listen to them you can make that much im almost 2yrs exp now and average $1200wk with Swift

I would go with TMC I have good things about from drivers and they came to school I have old drug charge so I didnt have a chance with them

They pay a % or miles your choice and you can change after 6months
