I saw LOH in an article about expedited freight and hot shot loads. Somewhere on this site and can't find the explanation anywhere on the net.
Unrelated to the above topic: I did find something that I wanted to post as my picture on here but it won't load. I have resized and re-sampled it to the maximum specs but it still won't load. That site you sent to me is where I found it and its the mama polar bear and cub. Can you help me Gitty? -
i here prime is a good company to train with you get hands on and 1- on-1 with an instrucktor
MaMa Bear Thanks this. -
im in same boat too,i have 9 years under my belt and because i took acouple years off they act as if i don't know how to tie my shoes lmao.they all say the same things like sorry your app looks great, we sure would love to have ya but our ins won't cover you.i say why?they say cause you need recent exp.but yet they will take students by the tons.makes no sense.i could see if maybe you needed to brush up on any new rules like in logging but heck that takes all of what 5 mins?
so after the week of research this is what i have found.werner will take me with 2 weeks with a trainer, swift 3 to 4 weeks with their trainer, stevens about the same butler would but i might be to far out of their zone to get me home even tho i told them that did'nt matter to me.
a couple other big carriers too,so it's odd to say the least but what else could ya expect in this country these days. im sure i'll get acouple of people saying "your not telling the whole story" so ok i will clean record all the way around never seen a jail cell, clean driving record as in nothing at all is on it. but all is good the place i want to go to told me to go get my 6 months recent and then i can do what i want then.
btw werner did say they would pay me for my exp, swift would not.so im stuck trying to fig out which one to go with.i know they are all about the same and as far as safe stats go they seem to be neck and neck.so for me it comes down to how much will they have ya sitting...MaMa Bear Thanks this. -
Thank you rhicks70 and joseywales// for the info, very helpful!
I'm looking for a company that has benefits, medical, dental, retirement, somewhat good home time although that isn't a deal breaker overall. One thing that is a deal breaker is I need to take my dog with me on the road. He will be my protection as well as a companion. Any ideas who would take me on? lol -
I have decided on my "song" for being out on the road. Eddie Rabbitt's Drivin' My Life Away....yay!

I'm looking at a company and they advertise "Additional $.05 per loaded mile on pad wrap and rolling stock load". What does this mean?
Also, I'm making a list of little odds and ends to take with me in the truck for creature comforts and little tools that I will need. One thing that I'm curious about from the lady truckers out there is what brand of wet wipes do you use in between showers to keep yourself clean and fresh? I mean whole body and not just "that" area.
Thank you all for any input you may give! -
I have not been back on the road since I got my cdl and was told that I needed to get a refresher course .
Their are a few companies that I have checked into that offer this, just have to decided which one will accept me -
How long have you had your CDL and not driven? I'm finding that you get what you pay for as far as trucking school goes. I start in December with a company that has an excellent reputation and has been training drivers for 40 years. Check around to all of the schools and even tour them if you can to get a good feel for what they offer.
Good luck in your endeavor. -
Would doctor prescribed narcotics disqualify me from passing my DOT physical? Do any of you use these drugs and still qualify to drive? Please I need this info pretty quickly.
