I know some (maybe a lot) of drivers just live on the road and don't maintain a house, apt, etc. What do you use for your address for your CDL?

Don't know of too many hands that don't have a permanent address (read home /house/apt. ) I know folks do " live ' in their trucks. But , I've always used my home address.

As for me; I figure if I'm going to be out for weeks at a time and only home a few days...why maintain a place to basically keep my stuff

This dilemma/question has been asked on the forum before.
Here is a previous thread of the same question, with suggestions.

UPS box...that's what I use...worked out just fine here in Florida, not sure in other states...

I use my parents' address. I changed my bank info so I could present a statement for proof of residence when I transferred my CDL. It worked out well for me since they're in TX and that state has no income tax. If you have friends or relatives in TX, NV, TN, or any other state that will save on taxes, I'd look into that.

Yeah If you don't have a place I would suggest, parents or just use the address of another family member.

Here is what I did when I first opened my "handyman" business 5 years ago. It was just a small business to subsidize the income of my full time job. I didn't want to use my home address on my business cards. The city and the Virginia DPOR said that I had a have a legal brick and mortar address and a PO box wouldn't cut it. I went down to the UPS store and signed for a box with a established address and it was accepted by the city. It might work for you. Try one of these................
Regus or HQ Global Workplaces, or services such as "Mail Boxes Etc." or "UPS Store," since they offer street addresses and not a PO Box.Sean_Reno Thanks this. -
